Out of the goodness of my heart and because the OP couldn't be bothered, I searched for the answer. I found the answer.

Do the majority of people aknowledge this by thanking. Does the OP update their post to show the answer, or even thank.

    It's rhetorical, by the way.

    Answer removed.

Sorry but I don't understand why people are so caught up about who thanks who. It doesn't matter at all. If the OP wishes to post an answer when they post a competition they can. We should be grateful that they have gone to the effort of finding a competition and sharing it with us. If they post an answer then that's a bonus.

If anyone else wants to contribute by posting an answer they can, but there needn't be a fuss about it.

well i might be wrong, so am just speaking for myself, i always thought (when i joined here) the idea of posting comps & helping provide the answer/s was to save us all time trying to find the answer/s IYSWIM, would think that if everyone posted just comps with no answers provided we'd not get time to enter the majority of them as we'd all be googling looking for answers & if the op didn't know/couldn't find the answer then it's only polite to thank the poster/s who's taken the time & trouble to find the answer/s ?

Well said Korky, I just wish more people would use the Thanks button in general rather than bumping old comps to write 'Thanks'.

That just plain rude - the type of ignorance that Al is a talking about!

I'm sure if you did the work you would expect to be thanked - this applies in the real world too
