To avoid being charged £25 for going overdrawn on my Barclays current account I made a trip into town yesterday just to go to the Building society, withdraw money from my savings account there and then to Barclays to pay in cash. However despite cash being paid in on the 13th Barclays only credits this amount as being paid in on the 14th resulting in a £25 charge. This charge then takes me over the overdarft limit again - result another £25 charge today even if I go in today and again pay in cash. However if I don't pay in cash again today I will be overdrawn for a third day - another £25 charge for a total of £75.
However when I checked my account online when i got home yesterday it was not overdrawn - there is a flaw in their system which automatically debits the £25 charge despite cash (which should be credited straight away) being paid in. This happened last year and when I explained it to the 'personal banker' (after waiting half an hour in a long queue) he agreed to deduct the £25 charge - however despite telling me in person that this would be done it never was.
Surely £75 is a totally unreasonable and out of proportion charge when I have made every effort to avoid going overdrawn and the amount I was overdrawn by was significantly less than £75.

I bank with Barclays and have no problems with their internet banking or branch usage.
Sorry to hear that you do!
I sometimes go over my agreed overdraft limit and I normally don't get charged till a day or two later! Thus allowing me plenty of time to get money to get back into my limit.
Again, sorry to hear you are having problems.0
