How do I chose which Digital Camera?

My "lovely" toddler has managed to break my digital camera - a Nikon Cool pix L3 (5.1 megapixels) .
So I'm looking to get a new camera nothing to fancy, preferably less than £100
I want something that works well in "auto" as I'm not one for changing settings all the time I just want to press on and be able to capture my DS doing something silly.
Any suggestions or links to reliable reveiw/info sites?
Thanks in Advance

All the above have decent reviews. This group test on dpreview may be of use. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
First of all - I tend to look on Amazon to get a 'guide price' and see what I can afford.

So, immediate I can see a few ideas. I look at cameras from big brands (Fuji, Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Panasonic). Forget megapixels. Anything more than 6mp is quite sufficient unless you're printing posters.
I then look at the lens. Wide angle, low F value is good.
Ideally, go to a shop (dixons/jessops) and play with them. THEN take the price from an online store and see if they'll pricematch
Oh yes - you might want to keep your old memory cards.. so you should check the new camera supports them0 -
i've just got a fujifilm s5800. Cracking camera for the price.
