In todays Times, Staples are advertising some sale items which would appear to be very good value, but are they? Perhaps someone with specialist knowledge could comment.
First, a Gateway 19" TFT for £159
16ms response rate
500:1 contrast
1280x1024 resolution
Second, a 250GB external hard drive
USB2 connection
7200rpm
priced at £79.99
There are other things too, like an HP all-in-one printer/copier/scanner for £74.99, but it was the first two that caught my eye. Of course, you get what you pay for, I suppose, but if you are not a dedicated gamer or some such, would the monitor be reasonable? If it seems to be, would everyone please stay away from the High Wycombe branch until I get mine, thank you! They are all, of course, "subject to availability." Hence my panic....

I have got one of these and at 19in running 1152 x 864 it looks beautiful to me. havent tried playing many games on it but your really avid gamers want 8ms response time. So its good for the price for office based work but not for serious gamers!
it has a Analog and a digital dvi plug on the back.

16ms is fine for the vast majority of people, only gamers really have any benefit from faster ones.0
