Yes but you may damage the card because pictures are sequentially numbered on the card i.e DSC00001 and you will need third party software
to do this correctly,, Bottom line dont bother............
Try a USB Flash Drive. (Pen Drive) To Transport pictures.0 -

Rubbish!
The DSC0001 etc. is simply a sequential filename given when the picture is taken and originally stored by the camera.
You can copy any named file back onto the memory card simply using Explorer, as long as it's not a duplicate filename of course.
A USB Flash Dive is useless if you want to take your pictures to be printed in a typical photo shop booth, where they cater for the various different memory cards used in cameras!
:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Maybe instead of saying Rubbish!, what about Mmm im not sure
your right on that or someting with more Tact..
I have just tried it on my Fuji E510 and the an Error message just came up saying Cannot read Data.
It isnt a removable drive as such more of a removable folder.
Many upto date photo stores and booths have USB CD and Card reader availability.0 -

I said rubbish! because what you said is incorrect and something that I have done many times after editing pictures on the PC, re-naming them and then transferring them back to the memory card!
You said "You may damage the card because pictures are sequentially numberer on the card" and also that "you will need third party software to do it correctly, Bottom line is don't bother..........."
These statements are factually incorrect and you are telling the original poster that it can't easily be done, which is wrong!
The original pictures are numbered sequentially on the memory card but there is not a pigeon hole allocated for each picture, as every picture has a different file size! You said "It isn't a removable drive as such more of a removable folder" When viewed using Explorer, it is displayed as a removable FAT formated drive!
When the camera is connected to the computer it is simply another memory device that can be read from and written to.
The two photo shop printing machines that I have used, Jessops and ASDA Do Not have USB connectivity but I am glad to hear that it is becoming more widely available, as they are indeed very useful.
So perhaps you are the one who should have actually said "Mmm I'm not sure about that" before telling the world that it can't be done! Just because you have not done it, or it doesn't work for you, doesn't mean that it is impossible for others! Maybe your Fuji isn't actually as good as you think it is.

I've got a Fuji 4700 and had this problem. I found that copying the images direct from PC to card made them unreadable on the camera. I discovered that provided you copy the files into the correct folder on the memory card (i.e. the same folder the camera uses to store photographs it takes) then you won't have a problem. I regularly now copy images from PC to the folder on the card, then take the card to ASDA, stick the card in their machine and it recognises the images instantly.0

I still know of problems putting pictures back on cards so when anyone in the
techie forum does this and it all goes wrong blame espresso...
And you should still use more tact, but I suppose you wont do that because
you are as flawed as your original answer... Oh well
Be nice to all Money Savers yeah right,
And now USB drives are useless. :rotfl: My ASDA has USB..0 -

Intel, it's nothing personal but the original information that you gave was incorrect. Was I supposed to ignore this fact, knowing that it was incorrect as I have done it many times before!
I was simply pointing out that it can easily be done without the need for any third party software. I don't think that it is particularly helpful to give incorrect information in an answer to a technical question! I'm sure that I could easily find previous posts of yours, where you have made less tactful comments to posters than rubbish!
I never said that USB drives are useless, just the opposite in fact, if you read what I actually said but many photo printing machines still do not have USB connectivity. As ASDA is my nearest photo printing outlet, I hope that when the two machines are replaced, that they will have USB connectivity.
Perhaps you should change your signature to: I am never wrong, I thought I was once but I was mistaken. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

But I see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors are beautiful,
Like a rainbow .
