Free online shares portfolio tool?

For the idle, to avoid sitting and totting up figures, is there such a thing as a free online tool or service where I can enter (and securely keep) details of shares held, which keeps itself updated with current values, so we can check in from time to time to see what they're doing and what their worth is, per holding and overall?
'Portfolio' is a grand name for us! We don't deal as we don't know enough, and don't have money to lose; but we do have small numbers of long-held shares in a few companies from past government or b/society flotations and the like, and would just like to have somewhere to keep tabs on them. It's really not worth us joining a 'proper' share dealing service or paying for an account as we are not pro-active with our shares -- they were bought many years ago and in that respect it's 'forgotten money', but the divis they bring in are (or have been till maybe now!) a small but useful and welcome supplement.
I was looking at the LSE Portfolio Service, but saw one or two comments elsewhere that it's slow and not ideal -- however, 'not ideal' for someone who's active with their holdings may be fine for us possibly. It looks like the FT do one as well, but I couldn't seem to find much detail without being taken straight to a secure area to register.
It would be good to have a screenshot of what we'd see before deciding, but these two anyway don't seem to have thought of that

I use www.digitallook.com - it's one of the best (still free) sites going for this kind of thing, and allows you to enter in transactions at historic prices, showing you profit/loss to date and total portfolio value.
Highly recommended...Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
I use www.iii.co.uk/portfolio - there are useful message boards there, but think that there are many others out there. Perhaps citywire.co.uk or certainly fool.co.uk.
Beware, they are addictive and although I view my shares and ISAs as long term investments, I do check the prices on a ridiculously regular basis.0 -

I use money on AOL:

This is the best, and easiest, one I have found except that for some reason I have not been able to access the portfolio at times. One of their staff told me that I must use Internet Explorer which has turned out not to be true. I have tried this weekend to get rid of a problem on my laptop and have done two system restores. After the second one everything is as normal and I can access Trustnet and see my portfolio using Firefox.
Lansdowne is an unusual name I think. Do you have connection with Hargreaves Lansdowne?0 -
More to do with the area where I live. I guess you don't live in "Jakesgran Road".
And Hargreaves Lansdown doesn't have an 'e'.0
