Not sure this is in the right place, but...
We're trying to organise a 90th birthday party for my other halfs Grandpa in August.
The family are probably going to hire the local church hall, and get some food delivered. They were talking of Marks & Sparks, but that sounds pricey to me! Any ideas?
I've been looking for balloons (so far 20p each is cheapest) and other decorations, but any moneysaving ideas greatly appreciated!

Balloon that say 90th are £2.60 for 10.
as for food would a local caterer not be more reasonable than m&s?? Or alternatively do it yourself if you have time/energy and numbers. I did my son christening buffet for about £100 for 30 people, with my mums help.
Good luck and i hope the party is a success whatever you decideGive me the boy until he's seven and i'll give you the man.0 -
Thanks for your suggestions, Plumpmouse.
Surprisingly, these things aren't that cheap on the net. I found balloons (£1 for 10), banners (£1) & confetti (£1) on our local market (York). I made the party invites myself on the computer.
Not sure what they're going to do about the food, I'll leave it up to them!

Farm foods and the pound shop!
Our 'poundland' has loads of nice candles, hats, plates etc. And farmfoods apparently do good cheap vol-au-vent cases. Have a great time ;DMember no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

I am going on holiday on Sunday and it is my Grandpa's birthday while I'm away so I need to get him a present before I go. He will be 90! I have no idea what to get him at all. As he is so old he doesn't have any/many hobbies that I know of. Any suggestions would be grately appreciated0

My Grandad is 90 in december and I am not sure whether you will have time, but I am going to get mine a copy of a newspaper from the day he was born. What about some tasty choccies or a subscription to a magazine?0

What about putting together a photo album of pictures of you and him together? Or if you haven't a lot of photos then pick a nice one and put it in a nice frame, along with some chocs or a bottle of whisky.

newspaper sounds good, any ideas where to get one online?0

Check out a bookshop in town, it may have a book of photos from years ago or a book of local history which your grandad might find interesting.0

Cook him his favorite meal or take him to his favorite restaurant/pub.0
