Switching Current Account & Credit References

Options
Hi
Please can anyone say whether or not switching current accounts has any effect on applying for credit in the future.
The reason I ask is that I have held a current account for 15 years with the same bank, and when applying for credit they often ask how long you have held your current account for.
I am thinking of switching to either A&L or Lloyds TSB but just wanted to check before taking the plunge as I do have a good credit history.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Why switch? Open new account, switch DDs, SOs, salary - and keep the old one!
