Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but before I part with my cash, I wanted to ask if anyone subscribes to IPDS, and whether they had any opinions on it?

Forget that website, its a waste of money -
Have a look at this link - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1151739&highlight=property+auction+websites
Also, http://propertyauctionaction.co.uk/
Use the search function for keywords on this site and you should find more.

Hi
I would probably agree with ray123; seems like a waste of money. Can’t see what they can tell you that you can’t find out for free. You
can get a list of all UK property auctions from the Institute Of Chartered Surveyor’s link below;
www.rics.org/Practiceareas/Property/Auctioneering/
Not sure what area of the UK you are looking in but below are links to
auction websites that have properties mainly in the London and South East area.
http://www.allsop.co.ukhttp://www.a-r.co.uk/Auctions/
http://www.savills.co.uk
http://www.willmotts.com
http://www.drivers.co.uk/auction/current.htm
and Bernard Marcus (goggle this one)
Also the Essential Information Group http://www.eigroup.co.uk website. Here you
can access most auction lot details and catalogues. You do pay a subscription
but worth it I think if you really know what you are looking for and want to
search for the type of property you want in your chosen area. For example you
could set a search for 2 bed flats in South East London. They then would send
you email alerts if any auction catalogue has such a property. You can also
look at what has sold in past auctions. You can access all this info for free
as a lot of auctions now have catalogues online now, however worth paying the
EIG subscription to have it all easily accessible in one place.
Hope this helps.0 -
Excellent links everyone!
A follow on question: is there a time efficient way of finding property being sold by 'out of area' auctioneers? My area is serious commuter country (rural Northants, Warks, Leics), and the type of place I am looking for is low value derelict buildings or building plot, that may well have been purchased by chancers who were feeling wealthy, didn' t really know what they were doing, and now just want to cash it in asap. The concern is missing out because a commuter has used the auctioneer or EA, next door to their office in London, rather than the local guy, and they haven' t been too careful about advertising it well because of the low value.0 -
Thanks for this.
Is there any way of getting the EIG info for free even if it means searching for it myself?
How labour intensive is it?0
