You no doubt have other things on you mind but to help we'd need to know:
Where abouts are you going?
When do you need to go and how flexible are your travel dates?
Are you after a one way ticket or return?
If return, then when do you want to come back and how flexible is this date or do you require an "open" ticket?
Is there any particular time you won't travel e.g. night flights?
Where can you fly from (would you consider - for example - getting a train from London to Manchester if overall it saved you £100)?
Is it just you going?
What is the best price flight you have seen and who with?
What is the maximum you can afford (realistically, there may be no flights you can afford)?
I can't promise to find you what you need but if you can supply some more info I will try and help you find a cheap flight.

Hi Xtreme,
I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. As has been suggested you may get help more quickly on the travel board, so I'll move your thread over there and hopefully you will get the help that you need,

Hi,
I don't know if it might be worth calling South African Airlines - I was on the Air Canada website the other day and noticed that they have 'emergency fares' or something like that - I don't know if all airlines do this? With Air Canada you needed a letter from doctor/hospital or similar or you could pay for the flight and then send letter when you had it afterwards to get some money back. I don't know how much cheaper it would be - I got the impression that they kept a seat or two on the flights for emergencies.
I hope you get it sorted.0 -
Still checking, cant find a direct cheap but Gulf Air have got some via Bahrain around the £400 (valid for 2 months)

and based in alperton(nr Wembly) Should be near you if you are 20min from the airport.

Some airlines do emergency or compassionate fares, you may need a fax from the hospital though. Virgin fly to Jo Burg, you could give them a call.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
