I've never heard of this - is it any good??The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.0

# For a free anti-virus program try AVG, they do a free home version that doesn't have all the bells and whistles like other AV software, but its capable of keeping itself upto date and does a scheduled scan of your PC for viruses.
can be found at
http://free.grisoft.com
# A free firewall can be had from Zone Labs at
http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload.jsp?dc=12bms&ctry=GB&lang=en
not recommended if you (or your children) play online games as it lacks the ability to open ports to make them work reliably.
# Want to know whats in your PC and what license keys you have for your software? Try Belarc Advisor

It can't find some keys but can do Windows and the like.0 -

Hi,
I use Software995's Backup995 at http://www.backup995.com/
They also do a full software suite which is free to download.

I use the Microsoft SyncToy to back-up / synchronise files to a flash disk. It is a Microsoft tool, but unusually it's absolutely free! It can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e0fc1154-c975-4814-9649-cce41af06eb7&DisplayLang=en0

Hi All,
Don't know if you know this but Windows 2000 / XP both come with a backup software out of the box.
Either go to Start | Run and type 'ntbackup.exe' and press return / click OK
_OR_
Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Backup.
This has 2 advantages over third party software:
1. Nothing to install, ergo no risk of spyware/viruses/system damage
2. Common backup format with all versions of windows - so when you upgrade to Windows Vista you can still restore from your Windows 2000 / XP backups

Windows XP Home does not have the backup function, but XP Pro does.
Edited to add:
I was wrong about this, read on.......0 -

Windows XP Home does have a backup function, but it's not installed by default. You can install it from your Windows XP Home CD though."Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect." - Mark Twain0
