Soda crystals for cleaning - what did I do wrong?

Options
Yesterday I tried using a weak diluted solution of soda crystals to clean my bathroom tiles and toilet. I made up the solution recommended on the pack (29g to 1 pint of hot water) but when the tiles and toilet dried, they were covered with white streaks and I had to go over them with a dry cloth. Is that normal or did I go wrong somewhere?

Nicola

That's normal. A wipe over with plain water (as a rinse) once you've done your cleaning will usually mean you don't need to dry wipe later. But anyway, it's nowt to worry about.

I find soda crystals much better to use as a water softener to reduce the amount of cleaning products I use by about half. I throw a spoonful in each wash and in every bucket/sink of hot water I draw. HTH
