Given that you can achieve exactly the same with a much more general-purpose major-brand wireless router (~£30)
It seems like a perfectly reasonable price to me0 -

This is the bit that plugs into the xbox - and as far as I'm aware, only the Microsoft licensed and maybe one or two others work with the Xbox to give you a wireless connection!
This usually retails for nearer £50!
Of course you can buy a normal wireless router and plug a lead from the xbox into the back of it if you would rather!0 -
What a great price. Our 360 is currently plugged into the router so can only be used on Xbox Live in the living room which means my tv is permanently hijacked by the kids. Would be ideal for us but the wireless reception in my house is garbage.Dream as if you'll live forever - live as if you'll die today0

Have you thought about getting a homeplug?
We have bought our son a 360 for Christmas and while we have a wireless router I think I'll get as they work out cheaper and are more reliable. It works through your electrical wiring. Have a read up on the net I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. You can get them for about £40 a pair on Amazon.

Good luck anyway.0 -

That's what I was suggesting.
Tiny ethernet cable(£ next to nothing) from your 360 into wireless router A(£~30), then bridge router A to wireless router B (the one you already own).
It's :-
* cheaper
* more general purpose (the wireless bridge can be shared by a PC, Wii, PS3, Blueray player etc)
* potencially faster. (if you use G+ or N routers your wireless bridge will be upto twice as fast - useful if you intend to use your 360 for media streaming)
I guess it's all down to how confident you feel setting up 2 routers to form a wireless bridge - it can be quite complicated if you choose the wrong brand.
:edit:
The hopeplug is another good option - though a little more expensive.0 -
Cheers!! Great price, was on my xmas wish list....but might as well pick it up now!!0

I can't understand your reasoning I'm afraid.I already have a wireless router. I therefore want something that the Xbox can communicate with, rather than having to plug another wire in or have another box lying around, with another socket to find!! This is a small unit that just plugs into the back of the xbox and hey presto.
My current wireless router also picks up my PS3 and my Wii, so again, no real need to buy another router.
I'm sure others may be able to use your advice though
(PS, glad I have been able to help some people with this find)

WOOP WOOP!!
Mine has been dispatched due to arrive tomorrow!!! Looks like it's not a misprice0 -
:rotfl: i thought that was an XBOX 360 and a wii for £33 then - had me all excited. Probably a good deal but what a let down!0

Re your first bit, still an extra box, extra cable and extra plug to find rather than a straight little adaptor into the back of the xbox.
It all comes down to Proprietary Vs general purpose solutions I suppose.
What M$ are selling you is a USB to wifi-g dongle.
For a PC these will typically set you back £7.
Obviously the 360 is a closed architecture, preventing vendors from writing drivers to allow the use of such generic PC hardware.
M$ then exploit their monopoly by setting a RRP of £60, ~8 times the market price of a functionally identical piece of PC hardware.
The alternative I was proposing circumvents this BS, and gets you a much more flexible & powerful solution for an equivalent price - and avoids funding M$'s anti-competitive business practices as a freebie!
Anyhow, not sure why I even mentioned it - I don't even own a 360
I guess you can see why
Nor do I own a Mac0
