Hello!
I rang tax credits on 10th november to notify them of a change of circumstances and as Iim now a single person it was a new claim. They said they had sent the pack twice but it never arrived and I filled out the claim online on 15th nov.
Im still waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rung them today and a very unhelpful man said "I dont know when and we cant speed it up"
what am I meant to use to buy food and nappies for my daughter?? Peanuts???

Yes, it often takes this long, they have had big problems. You could get help from your local Citizens Advice Bureau or other welfare benefits organisation who can negotiate on your behalf which may speed things up, and contact your MP.Torgwen..........

I'm not sure if it would be any use, but you could try a visit at your local tax office?0

I had the ame problem renewing a claim. they said they couldnt speed things up.. however they may have the details on their comp system and if you need benefits eg cb and hb the hb office can ring tc people to see what your entitled to. hope that helps a little.Bad mother to 2!

my partner phoned them up last week about change of circumstances, they sent us an amended award notice, it is now saying our children no longer qualify for tax credits, and that we only have i child... what a complete balls up, we rely on the money every week, checked bank this morning have not been paid(partner lost his job a little while ago).

My sister in law was made redundant and got a part time job, they told her she was ok to claim, she left the part time job for a full time one and was recently sent a letter,to say she has been overpaid.
She now owes them several hundred pounds, can get no sense out of them, and is having to pay it back monthly:mad: .I dont know all the details but she tells me that she thought she did everything right but was given wrong information by them. There are two sides to every story.

It takes a while as fraud checks etc need to be completed, and you may not be aware but your not the only one submitting a claim right now0
