Need a Bank which will operate a Trust account...

A relative has been disabled as the result of an accident.
Compensation has been paid into a Trust and I am a trustee on behalf of my relative.
The solicitor involved is also a trustee.
We are trying to find a bank cheque account which will allow the Trust element of the account.

All ideas gratefully received, Thanks,

Robert

Ask the Inland Revenue for a list:

HMRC are impartial ..... they won't suggest a Bank.

Not helpful that you've created 2 x threads ..... as it confuses? As on the other thread ... most Banks will operate Executor / Trustee accounts. But they're not a favourite ..... so they will tend to only operate one if there is an existing relationship with the person who is the subject of the Trust or one of the Trustees?

I would have thought the solicitor concerned would have ready access to such information? If not .. try the Bank your relative had an account with.

    This is one example :-

    http://www.halifax.co.uk/savings/arca.asp

.... the Asset Reserve account is the one the Halifax provide for Executors / Trustees. If all else fails do a Search on the Current account forum using 'Executor' ...... or a general Google using 'Trustee Account'?

Cater & Allen - a private bank in London.

Frenkle & Topping could sort it all out for you, tell you any info you need to know etc etc, but they charge.
If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!
  • Mikeyorks, Thanks - will look into it.

colin13, agreed ! Wish I could charge £200+ per hour.

foxxymynx, Thanks, will look into that too.
