Virgin from London Euston - 2 November 2008

 Did anyone travel from London Euston up north last weekend ? I had a horrendous journey - it should have taken just over 4 hours and actually took almost six hours!! Apart from the overcrowding on the train, (standing up most of the way) and the lack of usable toilets, There was a fault on the train causing it to be stopped just ouside of Crewe for over half an hour eventually pulling into crewe only to be told that we had to vacate the rear carriages and make our way forward to the first five carriages. Again there was chaos trying to fit everyone into these carriages!! Thank god I eventually got home!!

Did anyone experience these same problems and have you contacted virgin re some compensation??

Maureen;) ;)

I have had previous experience of complaining to Virgin. A polite, factual letter, stating the problems and making clear the length of the delay, is likely to result in a refund of your fare. Visit the Virgin website or your local station to get precise details of their complaints procedure and the appropriate form.

I was delayed last Thursday: my journey to London and back should have taken less than three hours each way, and ended up taking more like six (in each direction).

I have always had good results from just picking up a complaints form from the station and sending it off to the train operator with my tickets.
  • Hi!
I regularly have cause to complain about the virgin train service up to this part of the world. Write a letter to virgin explaining the problem and I would expect you'll get some travel vouchers
    Good luck
