Pruprotect with cheaper gym - is this a better option that pruhealth?

Hi All

Just found out that if you join with Pruprotect you also get the Vitality scheme that can offer cheaper gym membership.

Also - I already have death benefit, I suppose I could cancel my existing scheme and join up with pruprotect, get the same benefit but have the option fo cheaper gym membership if I choose.

Does anyone else do this with Pruprotect and not Pruhealth?

For some people yes it is, for others no. It all depends on your individual circumstances and your needs and wants.

For example if you want the cheap gym membership via Pru and if you already have private healthcare already paid for by the company and and/OR you currently have or need one or more of Life, Critical illness, Accident, Income Protection, unemployment insurance. You may get more benefit in going with Pru Protect rather than Pruhealth as it may be cheaper/the same/not much more than your currently paying for life/CI insurance anyway + you get the Pru gym deal and other discounts thrown in too.

With Pruprotect if you get to Platinum your premiums keep going down 2.25% (compounded, so just keep pressing -.2.25% on a calculator as a guide) per year and you get all the vitality benefits Pruhealth members get as long as your starting premium is £25 or over per month.

I have both Pruhealth and Pruprotect and if you have both you get slightly better discounts on their vitality partners i.e. annual cineworld pass for £15 instead of £25 with both, not on the gym prices though. The beauty being you get to platinum on one and your automatically platinum on the other and your premiums with both shrink Pruhealths dramatically after year 1 Pruprotects gradually 2.25% a year if you keep achieving platinum.
