Can any1 help please? I took out a tenancy on a property on 25/07/08 and have been living with my partner & our extended family of 3 kids & 2 dogs quite happily since, the rent is all up to date and so are the household bills. I popped home from work at dinner time today and found 3 letters, 1 for my landlord, 1 for his partner & 1 addressed to 'the occupier' of which i opened. inside was a letter from a legal company which read "dear sirs, please note that the mortgagee of the above property is currently enforcing their order for possession. The county court baliff has the power to evict any person occupying the property regardless of them being named on the possession order. It is imperative that you obtain alternative accommodation immediately. Advice may be obtained from your local housing authority."
Of course i am devistated by this letter as i had no idea it was coming. I cant contact my landlord and when i contacted the company who sent the letter they wouldn't give me any imformation as they were unaware the property had been let! What do i do now? this house took months to find as i have children and 2 much loved dogs that i couldn't bear to lose so hence finding a landlord willing to take both in a suitable sized home is near impossible!
Can anybody give me an idea of how long this process will take as its coming up to xmas and cant even imagine being homeless or in tempory accomidation at such a time! any help would be very much appreciated
sorry about the length of my message but i thought i'd give you as much imformation as possible. Mark

Could you contact the mortgage company and offer to pay your rent directly to them instead? You could got to the CAB for advice on this situation.2021 Targets

Contact the lender, let them know you are a tenant in the property.
Contact the court and find out if and when a possession order was granted; it may have been suspended.
AFAIK you have to be served notice with dates of possession, they can;t say get out immediately.
The letter doesn't look that professional, I would expect that a mortgage lender would use a more professional service.
Contacting CAB and your local housing officer is a good idea.
