xbox 360 Scammers on ebay!!!!

Looks like with Christmas around the corner & many parents wanting to get their kids an xbox 360 in time, may fall victim to this kind of thing.

here (read the last bit of the auction)

I've emailed the winning bidder to let them actually know what they have bided for & to hold back on sending payment (unless of course they want what's on offer for that ridiculous amount of money).

It also looks like some shill bidding has gone on, as one of the bidders (with a highish feedback rating) has set up a similar auction in their own username here

This auction is not for a Xbox 360 game system, but instead a picture of one. I hope you enjoy this high-quality item. The 360 is the hottest thing on the market.

    Hmmm...

eBay full of scammers and chancers?!? Course not...

    A fool and their money....

Allthough I sympathise, people really should read the auctions properly.

As said before, greedy sellers prey on the unwary...

i emailed a guy on saturday who had just won an auction at £500 for an xbox 360, and in tiny print at the bottom of the auction it said 'delivery not guaranteed before christmas'.

The guy emailed back saying he'd just spotted it too and this was the FOURTH time he'd nearly been caught - i think a lot of people have ended up snowblind as they are bidding on xbox after xbox....

it's for this reason that i'd never buy any high price items on ebay.... I'm after an ipod nano, and was looking for the cheapest, and it's not even worth trawling through all teh crap on ebay to find a genuine auction.....

though a lot of people feel they have no choice now as there is nowhere else to buy them...

I hated selling my spare xbox 360 on ebay as it meant taking a paypal payment for a large amount which i am normally strongly against doing...

the same seller of the original posting has doen the same thing for a TV currently on auction for 19 more hours. Item 5839577781. Small print states "This auction is not for a Sony Bravia television, but instead a picture of one. " Currently at £540 !!!

Does anyone want to mail the high bidder to warn him/her?
  • i have a funny feeling this bidder is know to the seller - best keep away!!!

You mean the zero feedbacker? It was another high bidder before.

Check the bid retraction for £700 on the bids page, the bidder must have seen it himself?

I have emailed the winner. I hope people who bid on things like this learn from these mistakes. Just goes to show - if you put alot of crap in your auction description then people dont bother reading everything.

Well Done to the people who spot these auctions.
