Icesave and Fortis

All these rumours and I doubt many are true but here is the latest I heard on Sky news a few mins ago, A reporter from Sky in Iceland said there were some moves(?) that Vortis the Dutch bank were interested in taking over Icesave, but went on to say that it depended on a deal where Britain unfroze Landsbankis assets in the UK.

I imagine that it's another 'red herring' but thought it might be of interest. :)

I can't imagine how!? Fortis had to be nationalised by the Dutch government a week or so back!

Reading that article, Fortis would take over Dutch retail accounts, not British ones.

It would be like Northern Rock taking over our savings, which is what I suspect will happen - it'll be a quick way of adding capital to our own state-owned bank.
