What’s it all about?

Sky By Broadband’s a new service available free to Sky digital customers which allows you to download and watch selected movies and sports on your PC.

What can you watch?

You have to be signed up to the relevant package in order to download. You can get:
* Sky Movies, if you subscribe to Sky Movies 1 & 2
* Sky Sports, if you subscribe to Sky Sports 1 & 2

At the moment films on offer include Spiderman 2 and The Day After Tomorrow, as well as sports clips, such as Premier League footie.

How does it work?

Go to Sky by Broadband to download the application to your PC. You’ll need to have a PC with Windows XP. A film typically takes an hour to download and you have 30 days to view it in.

BskyB are taking over the ISP Easynet, I assume, in part to give them access to this market. It's not going as fast as they would like though! I wonder what they will charge? Can't see them giving away something for nothing!

Sorry but i don't have sky, so i may have this wrong... But if your already a sky subscriber and paying for it then its not free. For someone like me i would have to subscribe and pay a monthly fee.. Would i not??
If you think nobody cares about you, try missing a couple of payments.

if you only subscribed to the family package then i dont think you can get access to the free tv via broadband.

its another sky tactic of thinking ahead, now that ntl is one big company and it may get people to upgrade there packages for this extra feature?

it looks like you will have to download the films before you can view them, upto 3 hours.
  • Question for u

If you look around the net you can already find a lot of what SKY provides from other websites - particularly sport.
If you're struggling to find it you may even find a link at the bottom of this post to help guide you :p
