Yep - far too good to be true.
Have a search through these forums for "telebid", then you may understand why they changed their name to "swoopo".<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
I have used swoopo and have to disagree, if you set yourself a bidding limit and stick to it sensibly you can bag yourself some great savings, I have won a WiiFit for £6.87 and a computer worth over £1000 for £45.00 I generally bid around 1am as the site is quiter then. You have to buy your bids for 50p a bid but again if youre sensible and watch the auction for a while first the savings far outweigh the cost of the bids. Im addicted. The site gives you a running total of the bids you have placed and the cost of these bids, and I think if you stick to your set bidding limits and do it sensibly you can win and will win. They limit you to winning 7 auctions in any 28 day period and also stops you from buying the same thing over and over to stop commercial resale. Give it a go but REMEMBER SET YOURSELF A BIDDING LIMIT. Get carried away and you wont be making a saving at all.0

Hmm, I'm pleased it worked for you. For anyone else I would urge caution, just see the telebid thread on the warning site, these are more akin to gambling sites than auction sites and you can lose a great deal of money and get nothing in return.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Surely not  Ebid are a proper auction site, small but with nothing to suggest that their repuation is anything other than good. I hope they have no conenction with this new site.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I logged into my Ebid account after reading this thread and there was the banner in the top right hand corner

Perhaps they are just happy to be taking the advertising fees as the traffic is growing steadily on Ebid.
Strange though as surely they are a competitorAMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0033 come and join us :j make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the ebay and other auctions, car boot and jumble sales board0 -

I'm wondering if there a way that a company can apply exciting auctions like what Swoopo, Madbid and Exceet offer, and still not cross over into an area where users feel duped or scammed? Personally, I don’t think that it’s possible if the operator of the auction is also the one listing the products. When this happens the operator has the exact opposite interest to their client. In other words, Swoopo only wins when their client loses! And I can’t see around this issue when the operator of the auction is listing the products.
It would be the same as Ebay only auctioning products listed by them…of course no one would trust them! And fair enough. I believe it is only when the operator can impartially operate a market that they can truly be trusted. In this instance the operator of the auction only wins when users are happy and keep coming back.
Interestingly, Exceet.com has a new twist where all their auctions are 100% off and you can earn Points (to bid) from taking surveys and just surfing their site. They are also giving away 500 points ($5.00 worth) to all new joiners...so no downside from what I can see since you don't need to pay to play. So you could win a free products for nothing! Right now their is a Wii Fit with No Reserve and cause they're new there is hardly any competition. Worth a look...0 -
