Hi All
Having problems with Triton Credit Services.Have had a bad patch recently, my hubbie has been off work for over a year with several prolapsed disks and has run out of sick pay, mortgage insurance, etc. I have been doing the usual (i.e burying my head in the sand!) and have only now got around to reading the mail that has been piling up over the past few months. I've sorted everything else out but Triton are refusing to accept my offer of £50 per month until hubbie is back at work (hopefuly in the next two months) and then I can increase the payments. They are insisting on £149 (10% of the balance) per month for the first 3 months and then the payment of the balance in the 4th month.
Just had alovely conversation today with Triton who once again have rejected my offer and have said they will now escalate the matter. I asked them who owns the debt and they say they are only acting on behalf of RBS, but quickly stated that I would have to deal directly with Triton as Mint or RBS won't speak with me. I asked for a copy of the CCA and they said I would have to ask Mint for that.
They were treating me like I was a naughty schoolchild on the phone  so I said that I would not put up with being spoken to like that and I would only deal with them in writing from now on.
So...what now? I was thinking I should put my offer in writing and also confirm that I would not deal with them over the phone. But can I still deal with RBS or Mint over this or do I have to continue with Triton? Is there any point in requesting the CCA from Mint? Any advice over this would be gratefully received!
Thanks
Angie

Did you get anywhere with Triton they are doing the same with me and refusing to accept offers. I had an agreement with the CC Issuer that they forgot to setup the Direct Debit and within a month transfered to Triton and now cannot reinstate the agreement and they want 10 times the amount per month or legal action.
Hope you can help

Triton are unpleasant, unreasonable tw*ts, I wouldn't bother speaking to them again.
My tesco credit card debt went from them to Newmans, who were actually reasonable and let me set up to pay what I could afford.0 -

Yep but don't worry about that - we've discussed this and they have messed up big time, you hold all the aces with this fiasco - lol, ideally you'd love them to try and get you into court and then we'll show em who's boss lol - i'll even go and teach them the law in front of the judge for you :rotfl: :rotfl:2010 - year of the troll

Didn't Triton make showers? You wouldn't accept this behaviour from a shower company would you?
No.
Stop speaking to them and write to them. Make it clear it's your final offer as you can't afford more. They can have it or nothing.
And if you can't afford even what you're offering pay nothing and see a debt counsellor. Don't take cheek or nastiness from any company. Debt recovery scumbags like this deserve no respect from consumers. You can be polite however.

Lol, we'll get this sorted for you - don't worry. Just remember to do what we advise, and no more speaking to them - it's a big no-no! Best way is to fail security, they cannot discuss the account with you then2010 - year of the troll

Excellent advice. It's always worth registering a free SIM of course for when a call may sort out a small problem but letters are best. Plenty people can help with lett templates too here or elsewhere.
These people prey on ignorance and anything else (illness, stupidity) they can so it's best not to speak to them ever. I know they're just doing their job but we all know the horror stories about debt collection companies (or their over-bearing staff to be accurate).0 -
hmmm,
letter from green & co has arrived, ..notice of intent to commence legal proceedings.... dated the day i received their last letters!!
i cant work out if they are intentionally stupid/irritating or really that dumb!!
have pm'd 10past6, hoping he checks in soon :-)Please be nice to all moneysavers!
