free/cheap wifi internet acces

right i am no techie but have just purchased a laptop with wifi capability

so how much do i have to pay to access it whilst out and about or can i get it for free

    thanks but alot of it is per hour and i only want to pop on every now and again... arent there hotspots that are free all over???

    another stupid question but how do u access these hotspots??

    I believe there is a free (i think) wireless hotspot in bristol, that runs from the top of Park Street down to St Augustine's Parade, the Watershed and some surrounding key roads - approximately three kilometres squared.

    thank for that unfortunately i am nowere near there as i live in essex

    its a shame cos there are loads of free ones in states

    oh well hipefully we will catch up soon

    get it free by using netstumbler and finding an unsecured network

    Although accessing wireless networks without the permission of the owner, even when they're unsecure and broadcasting SSIDs can lead to trouble, so be careful.
