Is this cleanser no good

I have been using this cleanser for about six weeks. I think I heard somewhere (possibly here) that you need to try a cleanser for about a month before you know if it's right for your skin or not. Since about a week or so ago I have started getting a dry patch on my left eyelid which occasionally itches (I guess because it is dry). When I cleanse my face I find, although I avoid my eyes, I usually end up getting lather quite close to my left eyelid and was wondering whether it could be the cleanser that has caused the dry patch on my eyelid.
Should I stop using it? I don't want to carry on using it when I have about another months worth if this is what is causing the trouble. I have never suffered with this problem before and can't think what else could be causing it.

You started having this problem after about 5 weeks of using the cleanser. I would have thought if it was the cleanser causing the problem, it would have shown much earlier.
Have you changed anything else in your skincare routine- your eye makeup remover for instance? Or starting using any new eye makeup that may have caused a reaction?
What is the cleanser you're using, by the way?0 -
I don't wear make up at all and still using the same moisturiser (although I don't use the moisuturiser on my eyes). I haven't used this cleanser before so thought that could have been it. It's an Avon cleanser. I have had it quite a while before using it. Would that cause a problem do you think?Did owe £9,951.96

Mmmm...I still think if it was the cleanser causing the problem, it would have happened much sooner. You've been using it for 5 weeks before the problem happening that you describe with your eyelid, so I think it's unlikely to be the cleanser causing it.
Personally my skin changes depending on the time of the month, as well as on what I'm using on it. And other factors that affect my skin are lack of sleep, and not drinking enough water. Could it be any of those things?0 -
Thinking about it, it was nearly a couple of weeks ago that my dosage of tablets got doubled and my hormones have been all over the place. I wonder if this has anything to do with it, although why only on my eyelid?!?!?Did owe £9,951.96

Could well be that I think! But I don't know why particularly your eyelid...except that the skin around the eyes are very sensitive- maybe you rubbed your eye or something, at a time when the skin was vulnerable?Thinking about it, it was nearly a couple of weeks ago that my dosage of tablets got doubled and my hormones have been all over the place. I think a cleanser might start to have bad effects after a few weeks use. But if it is only your eyelid it does sound like it might be something else going on.Student of the science of beauty0

Hi Beautyscientist
The reason I thought it might be the cleanser is that I don't use it on my eyes at all but have noticed that for some reason I do manage to get some lather just below my eyebrow but only on my left side. I thought maybe because the skin on your eyes are more sensitive then it was the cleanser that was causing the problem.
Like I said the only other thing I can think of that's changed is the fact my dosage of tablets has been doubled since the 21st August and my eyelid became dry and itchy probably a few days later.Did owe £9,951.96

I think I had better admit that I don't really know.Student of the science of beauty0

sounds like an allergic dermatitis type of problem, a bit like eczema. I have it on my neck and wrists after using a new perfume0
