npower Sign Online 12 (Elec) – Big increase for some

I got the new figures for npower Sign Online 12 (Elec only) today, these are for East Anglia.

Here’s a comparison, unit prices in pence and include VAT:

Old
First 728kWh/yr: 31.19
Over 728kWh/yr: 5.11

New
First 728kWh/yr: 15.435
Over 728kWh/yr: 12.358

The good news is that if you use less than 2300 units a year your bills will go down. There's a whopping reduction of almost 50% if you happen to live in a cardboard box with a 100w light bulb and a tv, and use only 900 units annually.

The bad news is that if you use more than 2400 units the annual increases are as follows:

3000 – 15% higher
4000 – 32% higher
5000 – 46% higher
6000 – 56% higher
7000 – 64% higher
8000 – 71% higher
