Hi springchicken,
Here are some older threads that may give you some ideas to get rid of the smell:
How do I Get Rid of the Smell of Wee?
cat's pee!
How to remove vomit smell from car upholstery

You can buy a special spray from the vets that costs about ten pounds but really works at getting rid of wee smells. It is amazing. It comes in a yellow bottle with a picture of a cat, dog and rabbit on the front. It works on anything 'organic' if that is the right word, i.e. wee, vomit etc. I know it's expensive, and perhaps not particularly OS, but it does work.0

Mop up as much of the urine as you can with toweling. Then sprinkle liberally with baking soda with 3 drops eucalyptus oil or tea-tree essential oil added. Allow this to absorb what urine is left. Then vacuum up, and sponge with white vinegar and water to deodorize further.
The recipe specifies 1 cup of baking soda with 3 drops of oil added before sprinkling on the stain, however when I used it I just tipped the baking soda onto the stain and then sprinkled the oil quite liberally on top of it, worked well!
This also works on those little night-time accidents children sometimes have!0 -
I've just bought some dettol disinfectant spray which is supposed to deter them from doing it again!I haven't got one!0
