Hi everyone I've just got an email from Ben at Pipeline saying

Pipeline gets approached by all sorts of companies offering discounts and deals - most of them not worth having - but when a major UK utility supplier tells us that our members purchasing power can get us cheaper gas and electricity, we start getting very interested. The sort of savings we can expect are in the region of £300 a year - thats the equivalent of a 30p per litre saving on petrol for the average motorist!

We can't guarantee that every single member will achieve this level of saving - it does depend a bit on where you live and who your current supplier is - but we do know that the vast majority of you can definitely benefit. To find out if that includes you, just tell us who your current suppliers are and roughly whereabouts in the country you live by clicking here - http://www.PipelineCard.org/utility_survey.aspx - and filling in our quick 3 question questionnaire.

do you think it will be any good

thanks

About as good as the discount card Ben Scammell promised offering between 5p - 7p off every litre of fuel purchased from

So if you're currently spending £300+ over the odds, he'll save you £300.

Best to use one of the comparison sites listed above in the resource bar and get the best possible price and then get any cashback too (rather than restricting the choice to the company Scammell is affiliated to and allowing him to pocket the marketing commission)

Also, be aware of the advice by MSE Martin not to switch currently due to some companies not yet having implemented price rises.

  • Funnily enough, I had an email along the same lines telling me to switch - I was about to call the number, but his name (Ben Scammel) instantly rang bells and prompted me to go on here. I know it shouldn't, but it's funny how a name can change the chances of doing business with someone, isn't it?
  • If I was him I'd consider a name change. Peter Scammell sounds so much better.
