Salvador Dali was also from this area and his museum is a short drive at Figueres, or visit pretty Cadaqu!s where he spent most of his creative years.

If you fancy a contrast in language and culture, why not drive over the French border, which is a little more than 50 miles north of the L’Esplai? Some of the best sailing in Europe is off the Costa Brava, and the Medes Islands is a marine national park providing great scuba diving. There is no shortage of activity for all the family with the Costa Brava’s famous beaches and coves, a water-park, several carting tracks, cycle routes, mountain walks, a butterfly park and much, much more, all within easy reach.
