Keep children entertained during the summer holiday with a variety of activities ranging from sports coaching to dance and music sessions and drama classes available through schools in your area. Many schools now provide an extended range of services for children and their families throughout the year, including breakfast and after-school clubs, family and parenting advice and access to health services.
There are more than 12,000 extended schools across England and by 2010 all schools will be providing access to extra services.

The Department for Children, Schools and Families has given News Shopper two summer activity packs to give away to entertain kids at home when they aren’t at their summer club. First prize includes a stunt scooter, in-line skates and pads, a portable basketball system, a remote micro helicopter and a four-person badminton set. Second prize includes a pro power stunt kite, a cricket set, a seven-in-one swingball centre and a Nerf Dart Tag two-player set.
Competition rules:
Employees of Newsquest (London) Ltd and their families and anyone else connected with this promotion are not eligible to enter. Prizes are not transferable and there are no cash alternatives.The editor’s decision is final
