Credit card protection

Options
I have had a reminder from Sentinel Card Protection and the cost of a three year policy is £50. Is there any cheaper options available to me?

The cheapest option is not to bother with this type of insurance. If you lose a credit card your maximum liability is £50 (unless you were acting in bad faith) and most companies don't even bother to charge that. Just write down your credit card numbers and phone contacts somewhere safe so you know who to call should you lose a card. And don't carry all your cards together. And don't worry.

I'm in total agreement with 'greewich'. To my mind protection is a waste of money.

  • Yeah don't bother its not necessary in my opinion and it just complicate things, if they get lost or stolen for example HSBC ask if you've got the above protection and then you have just through loopholes etc if anything is out of order, rather than a straight forward refund etc.. .
  • I agree too. In general Credit Card Fraud is againt the Credit Card Company. and not against the card holders.

A quicker method would be just to photocopy both sides of the cards concerned - you have the card details on the front, and the contact numbers on the back.
