The UK's leading home baking company Dr. Oetker is supporting Breast Cancer Care's Strawberry Tea event through it's exciting new initiative, Bakemap.co.uk. The interactive microsite invites the nation to upload their much-loved recipes and create a virtual cake map of UK are Ireland.
Bakemap.co.uk "kneads" entries for all over the UK and Ireland. Recipes will create a virtual map of Great Britain and Ireland forming an extensive online bank of baking recipes. Visitors to the site will be able to download and try the recipes, rate them and also have the opportunity to email them to friends and family.
If that's not enough of an incentive to get out your woodern spoon, every entry will be entered into a free weekly prize draw to win Dr. Oetker goodie bags.Ten lucky bakers will also win themselves a course at a top cookery school for them and a friend.
Popular celebrity chef, Sophie Grigson is fronting the initiative and said "I am very excited to be involved in this campaign as it would be a tragedy if the baking tradition dies out. It's also a fantastic opportunity for busy parents to have fun in the kitchen with their children."
Together, we hope to create what will become the biggest ever collection of online baking recipes in the UK and Ireland and even break a Guinness World Record. So come on everyone what are you waiting for - get baking!
