Hi! :j does anyone have any experience of trying to get car insurance after being a company car driver? I am soon to be made redundant after 24 yrs fo driving company cars, without having any accidents or causing the company to have any calims made against them. Would anyone know of any insurance company's that would give no claims discounts against written confirmation from my company to this fact?
Any advise or comment would be most welcome!!!
Thanks.

I can't name any names, but I think quite a few will give an introductory discount to new customers who haven't got any NCD in their own name. Whether this will be more than a year is another matter. I fear it will be a case of phoning around rather than doing it all online - that only seems to work when you can tick all the right boxes!Signature removed for peace of mind0

Hi,
Get a letter from your company on letter headed paper. Make sure is dated and signed by someone high up.
Ask them to state you have had a company cars x amount of years and have had x amount of accident free years. You will normally be credited for 3 or 4 years no claims
Try ringing Endsleigh and Tesco
I also believe that the letter is only valid for a short length of time. So I would recommend ringing around now just to be on the safe side.
Good luck on the Job front..
Best regards

Hiya
For ncd from company cars, you will need the following info
Typed, on headed paper, signed by a manager:
The date the cover started
The date the cover ended (must be less than 2 years ago)
Details of any claims
That you had sole use of the vehicle (ie NOT a pool car)
That you could use the the car for social and domestic use as well as business
The registration number of the car
The type of vehicle - very important that this is stated.
And that should be sufficient proof.
Try Post Office, Dial Direct, or Budget.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
