I shop with Morrisons for my everyday stuff and their meat and fruit is of excellent quality. However, they do not do delivery and this means I have to get my heavy stuff from Tesco. When I wrote to Morrisons asking them if they would be doing a delivery service, this is the reply I received:
    "
    Thank you for contacting us.

Our focus is on serving customers extremely well in our stores and offering an outstanding selection of freshly prepared foods. We therefore have no plans at present to offer a home shopping service. In addition, we also feel there is insufficient customer demand at present to offer such a service cost-effectively.

    Yours faithfully

I know lots of people have said they would like home delivery so I am not sure why Morrisons have never commissioned a poll to see whether their customers would like this service. Seems very short-sighted to me!

it is probably more to do with money than anything else, i put this in a thread a few months ago, but it is equally viable here, i dont know how much tescos/asda`s etc charge you for delivery, but i would take a rough estimate of £5, if your shopping is a big order and takes nearly an hour to pick, then the £5 you have paid will not even cover the person who has picked your order wages, never mind the delivery driver, fuel and other associated costs, it cant be very cost effective for the company, cant make them very much money if any at all, so morrisons are probably just waiting until they figure out a more economical way of doing it, its ok for tescos/asda`s etc to take a hit as they are much bgger and can afford it, morrisons at the moment just concentrate on putting on fantastic offers on weekly to get you in there
Take every day as it comes!!

I think Morrisons and Asda are the cheaper of the big 4, but I suppose it depends what is on your basket. I think the fresh counters are excellent quality and if they did online shopping I wouldnt shop anywhere else. I am lucky that Morrisons have the Monopoly in my neck of the woods and there are 3 virtually on my doorstop. They always seem to be a few years behind the others with regards to loyalty cards, online shopping etc, but I guess they have figured they are doing fine without em.

I used to work for them in another life, best social life I ever had, ha ha :rotfl:

Morrisons tend to have best big offers then any other supermarket. You know the offers that make you go wow!

Sainsburys do have some nice half price / bogof offers on all the time but no where near as many as Morrisons!

Tesco is bit hit and miss for me. Sometimes I can go in there and find a few really nice offers and sometimes hardly nothing worth buying at all!

Asda sometimes have a decent offer but this is the only supermarket where you actually got to THINK if the x for £x offers are good or not by comparing them to the price of one item. Some offers may only work out a few pence off which is pointless and some may be better then half price! Its the same with Rollback. They hardly ever do half price / bogof offers.

I stopped doing my weekly shop at the Morrison's near to me as the fruit and veg went off really really quickly and i had stopped buying frozen stuff as i kept finding things quite 'soft' that had only just been put in the freezer...they had obviously been knocking around a while before being put in the freezer...this could give you food poisening with some products!
