Youd better explain that how you ment it as to ME it sounds like you suggested copying and pasting to the site and following whatever it said and ignoring (specifically) ME
"Yes it would followed by 2 guys clanking beer glasses" suggests to me you know EXACTLY who Sheep is refering to and you agreed with him and are drinking over it....:idea:0 -
Barry_Scott wrote: »So your now agreeing with what I typed earlier? As I said its a good site to have a look at your log (read post #2)
As said in the post before yours, you would have used that site or similar before gettings to grips with logs as no company deals in Hijack Logs as a profit making entity (I have never seen one yet within the UK) please prove me wrong
As already said deleting entries can stop a PC working or actually more the applications that are sat on the OS especially compat files.
Thanks for agreeing
I can look at the log WITHOUT copying and pasting.
Are you saying to follow ALL Advice thats given on the site? (ie all red crosses to be FIXed):idea:0 -
Lunny ~
I pm'ed you
Ill wait and see if you follow my advice so await your post/s on here
(I again apologise for the mess thats been made of the thread):idea:0 -
Barry ~ I completely agree that education is the mutts nuts
What im saying is this ~ you recommending to people who know little about what theyre doing will more than likely result in them making their computers worse
By all means ~ those 'in the know' can tinker till thier hard drives fall out. But this is the 'techie' section of the site, people come here who are NOT 'in the know'. They need help and thats what I try to provide (With NO pay). Therefore, in my opinion. its BAD advice..............:idea:0 -
Barry.
Once theyve LOOKED at it, what then?:idea:0 -
Barry_Scott wrote: »Thats upto them, or come back here as already said,
So after all that ~ your now recommending that those people that are concerned that something nasty might be on their computers and dont really know what to do should come on here and ask for help?
So whats the point in THEM looking at the hijack log? They may as well come straight on here and post it yes?:idea:0 -
Aside from all this ~ can you please answer a simple question for me
Someone thinks they have something 'nasty' on their computer
Theyve read YOUR advice and posted on the hijack site. They FIX some stuff as they have a BIG red cross by them
Their computer no longer boots up
Was it GOOD advice or BAD advice they followed?:idea:0 -
Barry_Scott wrote: »As said over and over and over again I said look at the log, if they go ahead and do something they shouldnt of done then thats their own impatient fault (do you read anyone elses posts?)
Please read posts fully before responding as its getting quite tiresome when I have to repeat every single word time and time again.
I read it Barry
My point is simple ~ WHY should they post their hijack log in the site in the first place if your NOW suggesting they come here for advice?
Is it not MUCH simpler to just come on here with the log?:idea:0 -
Barry_Scott wrote: »I can see you have no concept of customer relations, your not the be all and end all of HijackLogs, In fact if you broke my PC because of mislaid trust I would deter anyone from seeking your help ever again.
And whats the problem with someone else posting about a well established well recognised website that you said was BAD.... when infact the user should be aware that they can have an informed choice instead of trusting someone on a forum whos intentions are good but ultimately may ruin someones PC because of direct bad advice.
The user should be made aware of whats happening when a log is analised instead of blind faith, I have no problems with what your doing but you must realise that their is also no harm at looking at your own log, If you do think that then what proof do you have that the Hijack Log analysis website is bad?
We are allowed to window shop.
Im sure youd go see your 'tutor' anyways
But as you mention it. Do you see a problem with me helping people on this site?
If so ~ what is it and wheres your proof?
I can tell you with NO hesitation that ive saved people a shed load of money on this site. I help them in MY own time and all you can do is have a go?
I can see why your sheeps friend..............:idea:0 -
Barry_Scott wrote: »My tutor has nothing to do with this, and anyway Hes far to busy clearing up the mess of students who think they know best.
I do see a problem with helping people on this site who follow someone (sheep?) who thinks he can resolve every HiJack log, thats a very arrogant and self assured attitude to have.
Lets wait until you make a mistake as you surely will, It will be unfortunate but things can and do go wrong, your advice as well as mine is not 100% rock solid and until that day you should maybe put a disclaimer in your signature, as thata what most professionals on this site do.
Check out CSS helpers.
Im not having a go, as yet again you have not read my posts fully.
Barry.
In NO way am I saying ive not made mistakes. (Only 'sheep' claims that)
Do you understand though why my back is up considering the sheer amount of time I HAVE helped on here?
Also ~ are you saying I SHOULDNT help?:idea:0
