The seller has proof they posted the letter RD so I don't doubt it had postage then, but it was lost by the time it got to my PO. I don't see why it's my problem though, it's up to the sender to sort it out surely?

    its not your problem.
do they have proof of postage or just the RD label with the tracking number?
can you see any evidence of stamps/labels having been stuck to the packaging?

It seems RM is at fault. Why should you be out of pocket? but equally why should seller be out of pocket?

Is it really worth whinging on here about £2.10?

rm's at fault because the seller either didnt afix any postage or didnt affix it sufficiently?
unless it was labeled by a po that is

 that would make it sellers fault dude :j

Irrespective of whose fault it is, IMHO £2.10 is not worth beating your gums over.

right, you posted it was rm at fault
  • Recorded delivery is actually only a guaranteed method IF it has had the reverse of the slip stamped at the PO, therefore, seller could quite easily have just stuck the RC label on and popped in post box if they were feeling tight!

in that case please send all your spare £2 and 10p coins over to me!
  • The post office would have checked the packaging before stamping the Recorded Delivery slip, if the packaging did not have stamps then the person checking at the post office would not have stamped the receipt without charging for postage. You cannot just pop the item in the post first then go and get the receipt stamped after. Get them to send you a copy of the receipt, which should have been stamped.
