Quick Feedback Question

I had a couple of low feedback newbies buying a couple of items recently. They didn't bother paying even after several reminders. I Started an ebay dispute to reclaim my fees which after a week i was granted as neither had bothered to reply. I thus closed the disputes.
Am i right in thinking that because they didn't participate in the ebay dispute process they cannot leave me retaliatory negative feedback when i leave mine?

No they still can!!! What I do in situations like this is wait a few months and then leave it. Newbies can't find the item and find it hard to retaliate.
On the other hand if you have good feedback just leave your negative and warn others.0 -
Hi
They have upto 90 days to leave feedback as do you.
But as said leave it a while closer to the 90 days then leave it.

I thought new feedback rules meant that if you didn't participate in a dispute then you lost your right to leave feedback?
Memory must be going!
thanks for the clarification!0 -
.. just spotted from another thread that that and other improvements aren't yet implemented! d'oh!0

Is this the bit you mean?;
3. Removing feedback ratings (not comments) left by buyers who don't participate in the Unpaid Item process for that item. In November we will begin automatically removing feedback ratings left by buyers who do not participate in the Unpaid Item process for that item. This means the rating (whether positive or negative) will not affect the recipient's feedback score. The feedback comment itself will remain and will include an administrative note from eBay indicating that the feedback rating was removed because the member did not participate in the Unpaid Item process.
If so and assuming I have read the new terms and conditions properly this new rule won't come into effect until November, which is a shame as I have one at the moment that I'm going to neg as soon as I complete the FVF process.

For some reason the feedback option sometimes doesn't 'turn off' after 90 days. I've also left feedback after 90 days as the option just didn't disappear from my feedback section.

Soo
Option had disappeared from my feedback section, but i had the item number writen down. I typed that in, and on the listing it still had the "leave feedback" option. I left negative feedback thinking id be safe from the seller leaving retalitary feedback as it was past the 90 days, but it looks like they will be able to do so anyway - even though i paid instantly and it wasnt my fault they deliberately lied about the item in the item description.
Oh well, i have over 100 positive feedback, so hopefully 1 negative wont hurt!0 -
Feedback can be left up to 2 years afterwards - there is still a back door open for this I think.
Make sure they get their strike - if they do it to others then they get suspended anyway.
Have a search on their buying history - how many things have they brought in the past month? If its lots then just sit back and watch. If they only brought from you then they will probably just abandon the alias and start a new one - if they give you a neg it hurts you more than them receiving one and starting another alias up.
Choice is yours.
Change your buyer preferences to exclude buyers who have received strikes in the past 30 days and add this person to your blocked bidder list.I eBay, you eBay, we eBay.... just do it!!!!!0
