Buy 1 get 1 free postal bags - ideal for ebay sellers?

Options
Got this in an email -it's for 1 day only (sept 19th) - not sure how good the prices are as I have never bought these things, but might be of interest to those who sell a lot of stuff on ebay?

Depends on what you sell, and for these types of bags, the prices dramatically increase when the sizes go up! FOr that price, you are getting a bag that wont take a CD!!!!

Personally, I use the heavyweight plastic blue bags and just bought 16x12" 50 of them for £7 free p&p (not the absolute bestest price, but its okay)
Not suitable for books, but I shove some lightweight cheap card round those and all is okay.

But back to my first point, it really does depend on what you are putting in them.
  • Have only used Ebay for a few weeks to buy a few things.. thinking of starting to sell our clothing we no longer use and the childrens toys and books... can you please advise me of where you get those blue bags from.. then all i need to do is spend 2 weeks working out how to put the digital camera photos on the computer!!!!

GirlPower - I actually buy mine off Ebay!!! (Cos its easy) (and my bubble wrap!)

Under the Packing section, listed as Mailbags.

There is someone selling packing starter sets - all sizes/types of envelopes, bags, bubble wrap and tape, but there is a lot on ebay - carefully work out exactly what you are getting for your money! (including Postgage costs!)

Tescos sell brown wrapping paper in the Value range 0.78p for 3 large sheets.

I sell my clothes wrapped in a carrier bag and in one of the Blue Bags - it helps to keep them water-resistant.

And if you are having trouble with the camera, try the Techie Board! Someone there will be able to help!
  • Cheapest ( Free ) supply of posting bags is the Post Office, my local one puts the special delivery bags out on the counter and they come in a range of sizes, turn them inside out and you have a good free posting bag with a very strong seal.

  • Hi

You can phone up Royal Mail and get free plastic special delivery bags (I just turn them inside out so they are plain).

Can't use these - tried this before and my local post offices (all 4) told me that I wasn't using them for their proper purpose.

There was a big thread on one of the ebay boards about this so be a little careful. Apparently PO have realised what is happening and in some cases either refusing to carry any mail sent in an improperly used SD bag or In a couple of very unfortunate cases holding sent mail for extra payment for SD before the person receiving it could collect the package.

  • I have never had trouble using the Special Delivery bags. How can the post office be sure they are Special Delivery bags anyway ? do they have a monopoly on silver coloured bags ?

You could be recycling special delivery bags that you have received, through the post. How do they know for sure?
