Hiya!
I've had a huge clearout of Tylers toys this morning and found loads of bits and boken wax crayons. He wanted to throw them all away but instead i cut them into bits and put them into a baking tray.....the ones you makes buns with........and put them in the oven for about 4 mins untill they had melted. Took them out and let them set and we have brand new multi coloured crayons that are just the right size for him to hold. If you mix the colours you get a lovely rainbow effect.
He has now been sat for about an hour colouring with them!

I'm sure that some people use melted crayons when making candles as well to give them different colours0

Was just going to add thatadd a bit of glitter and a wic and you have a present from baby to nanna/aunty
I remember when this was just a little website! :money:0 -
You can also use old crayons to make candles by dipping. You need long wicks and wax melted in disposable containers - big tins or very old saucepans. It's nice to do in the garden, my children used to go to someone's house once a year in the summer when we were home educating and do this. They had a wonderful time0

I suppose snapping them deliberately to do this isn't very OS. Does anyone know where would I buy wicks from - and do you simply dip - dry and repeat?0
