DW leaving a film on plates and glasses

I have only had my tabletop DW a few weeks, but it is leaving a film and watermark-type-things on the plates and glasses.
There is rinse aid in the rinse aid bit.
There is salt in the salt bit.
I use one heaped teaspoon of powder (it is a very small DW). My rinse aid and powder are all made by Lidl.
I cleaned it by running it with just vinegar in but that didn't really help. The filters are also clean as I have checked those.
I usually leave stuff to dry naturally
The manual is really useless and badly written so please don't refer me to that!
Any ideas? Is it just cos it is a cheapie model? (Proline)
thanks

Try another supermarket brand of diswsher powder or try the 3 in 1 tablets are they are suposed to stop water marks. Do you live in a hard water area it could b that you need a little more powder? I once found putting too much salt in made everything cloudy :eek:0

London is a very hard water area so it could be that. Could try more...I can't try another brand just yet, I have loads left!
About the salt, I put it in the area right to the top as the manual said, and screwed on the lid, I didn't think you could use too much?0 -
Just to update, I have increased the amount of powder I am using and this seems to have worked, the film has gone. I thought I would post this because I have seen many other posts suggesting using a tiny amount which is what I was doing, and whilst I'm sure this works in some areas, in my area where the water is hard as nails, it was clearly presenting a problem!
Mind you, I am not convinced the salt light is working with the water softener, it is constantly lit when the machine is on, which is wrong cos the compartment is full...I am calling the manufacturer I guess...!0 -
Calling? On a phone? An email, or a website, if you can find an addess is considerably cheaperHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Muhaha squeaky...not if one is at work on one's lunch break...!
There is no website or email in any case, I searched for Proline on google and came up with nothing.... Humph. This is what I get for buying a cheap model I suppose...0 -
What a bummer! Maybe your first question should be "Have you got email or a website?"Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Rather worryingly, the phone just rings and rings...
I guess they, too, could be on their lunch breaks...?

The tabletop models are incredibly expensive to run.
But if you are living alone, it would take forever to fill up a big one - so I suppose it makes sense.0
