For those of you who are stocking up on birds eye roast beef to earn your clubcard points, please can we share ideas on how to cook it imaginatively? I'm sure it would help our freezers get restocked with the stuff if we actually looked forward to eating it!
I'll kick off:
Beef Stir fry; added tomato puree, tabasco (free pizza tabasco!), veggies, brown sugar and soy sauce to the beef in gravy and served with noodles.
(As recommended by The Times 30/8/05)
Beef Pie: Cooked beef, added onions and mushrooms and topped with pastry.
Beef Pasty: as above, but rolled in pastry!
And I can't think of any thing else to do with it!
How are the rest of you eating your beef?
PS: If you don't know what on earth I'm talking about, look at the following thread for ways to get cheap video rentals, airport parking, holidays, RAC membership etc etc etc through Tesco clubcard deals.

Lightly fry onions in a little oil, microwave beef, add to onions, warm bread rolls, and make hot beef baps.
Get rid of gravey, thinly slice beef, use in stir fry with loads of veggies.
Add chilli and spring onions, and fill savory pancakes.
Feed cat!:D:j0 -
Make large yorkshire puddings and fill with the beef-pub style0

I read that whole thread last night!! I never even knew it existed! Whilst I wont be buying £700 of Birds Eye Roast Beef in Gravy, I will take note though and start menu planning around extra points offers, as it would appear that 'every little elps.....'. So thank you for an entertaining read, and a bit of food (roast beef) for thought!

I've just had the most delicious dinner.
I decanted a few packs of the frozen beef into a saucepan, added a couple of chopped tomates (fresh or tinned) a beef stock cube, hot water and a dash of wine (depends on your interpretation of dash but you should drink the rest!) Bubbled for a little while and 'oh my goodness' almost as good as my butchers beef. Thanks to all who post constructively.

Beef curry
Zap a large sliced onion in the microwave - about four mins full power.
Remove and on a plate microwave four packs of beef. Chop up and add to the onion. Add a tin of curry (Pataks balti is particularly good - watch out for the Pataks tins sometimes three for a pound in Netto) Put back in microwave for seven mins. Serve with Tesco Healthy Living Nans (bogof at the mo)Snootchie Bootchies!0 -
I made Beef stew and dumplings with mine tonight. Partly microwaved 4 packs and put into a casserole dish with two packs of tesco frozen steamfresh carrots/broccolli/sweetcorn. Made up some extra gravy with oxo gravy granules with an added tablespoon of half fat creme fraichee(slimming world recipe) Stuck a few dumplings on top and baked in a hot oven along with some organics chips for half an hour. It was yummy!0
