Problem transferrring balance! BOI > Barclaycard

I have just come to the end of my 0% period with the Bank Of Ireland Ulster card and have got a Barclaycard Platinum to transfer the balance too...

However, having just rung Barclaycard they said they dont accept BT's from BOI??? (or BOI dont allow BT's to them, cant remember which way it was as i was boiling by now)

Has anyone come across this before? A quick search has revealed a lot of people had problems transferrring a balance TO the BOI card, but havent found anything about getting a BT from the card...

The BT is £2k, a third of thelimit on the new card.

Thanks in advance :T

There have also been reports of problems transferring from BOI to Barclaycard...

  • Thanks Yorkshireboy... as ever my keyword skills diodnt come up with the results i wanted

Have just spoken to BOI and they say its nothing to do with them, they cant block balance transfers /payments from other banks. Makes sense really, as any payment made from the new card would appear to just be a straightforward payment as far as BOI was concerned.

Now... back to Barclaycard for some answers
  • Update...

    Have just spoken to BC,

They say that the BOI cc number 'does not come up on their system' which is why they cant do the BT. However they have just agreed to do a BT into my current account so i can pay BOI myself.

I double-checked that it would be exactly the same as a normal BT and would only attract the 2.5% handling fee, and still keep the 14 month 0%.

I didnt think Barclaycard couild be used for Stoozing? (which is effectivly what i have done)

If anyone has spotted a schoolboy error in what i have done, let me know asap :p

    Thanks, Scratch

I assume you've noted the CSA's name, exactly what was said, and the date/time of the call somewhere very safe?
