budgeting charts etc

i want to start keeping a spending diary so i can see what i am wasting money and also a budget so i can see how much spare money i am supposed to have each week/month etc

im not very good with excell and the calculations you have to do

is there any charts etc avail to help?

  • also, whats the best way to work out your bills etc, i was working mine out monthly (at 4weeks=month) but 12 months at 4 weeks is only 48 weeks and not 52 like it shouls be

    There's a simple "add it up yourself" table you could use and there's also the MSE spreadsheet that you just fill in.

    I work on calendar months, some are four weeks, some five, depending...so the total adds up to 52 weeks. At the start of the year I go through my budget sheet, adding a note to each moth of the start and finish date, and whether 4 or 5 weeks of living money are to be drawn out.

    If spreadsheets are still called for, Squeaky, I was planning to modify mine for more general consumption. Just need to delete all my stuff, mark the formula boxes and do a few notes to go with it.

    Different people work different ways and need differing degrees of control (or not) of their budgets. So the more choices we can offer the better.

    I'd be more than happy to have ten or more diffferent spreadsheets for readers to choose from.
