What can I do with.....

A box of celebration choccys that have started to go white.

The nice man at the corner shop gave me a box, he said he can't sell them as the choccy's started going white, thing is my DD's have turned their nose up at them (euuugghhh what's that white stuff!) and I'm not a fan of choccy covered sweets. Ideally I want to use them rather than throw them away......so any suggestions....

Well, as long as the best before date is ok, they should be fine to eat. The reason they go white is because of extreme changes in temoperature, i.e. melting in the heat of summer and then putting them in the fridge. Apparently it makes all the milk in the chocolate come to the surface, hence the white colour. They'll be fine, eat them up, I would !! You could alwayas send them back to the manufacturer !!
  • I'm trying to work out which recipe book I have has a recipe for these ... essentially make brownies but put one chocolate in each brownie - then you have the surprise of "which one have you got?" each time you eat ... where was it ....Aha! The Green and Blacks recipe book ... mmmm hungry now :p . I can post the recipe or pm it to you if you'd like?
