Got any missing parts

I have just been reading the following thread Breadmaker - Budget option. And it was suggested that you ring the bread making machine makers to get any missing parts.
It reminded me that it it will be the same for most manufacturers of any products.
I did this with my cluedo board game I was missing one of the weapons and needed some more dectective pads. Contact hasbro who make it, cost me £1.50 for postage. Parts arrived in a few days.
Also casio calculators will provide an instruction manual if not on-line for £3.50 and about a fortnight wait. According to there customer services.
So before you throw something away because something is lost or broken just contact the manufacturers to see if they have any spare parts. Could save you throwing away and buying new when for a few pounds to be using the item again.

Yep. Well worth the time and effort. I've got loads of things around the place that would have been long gone if I threw them out at the first sign of trouble.
The instructions for my breadmaker say that if my paddle sticks in place to soak it for ten minutes. I'd often completely forget and not realise until the next WEEK when I went to make more bread. Suffice to say it did in all the seals on the bread pan. Entirely my own fault. A replacement cost me £4.00 including p&p which I thought was pretty darn good. Certainly rather cheaper than a new machine.

I'd third that, both, eg bought new lid handles from Tefal 12 years or so into the life of my saucepans at about 7% of what a replacement pans would be worth (they were out of guarantee); and even Cole and Mason sent me new 'S' and 'P' stickers for salt and pepper mills (free of charge - within guarantee). It's certainly worth equiring!0

My braun food processor is easy to get parts for and it has extended its life well beyond what you would expectIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

Toys too. I bought a tomy choo choo for my dd for christmas and my eldest daughter broke one of the track peices, and tomy replaced it foc. then the train choo choo noise stopped working, probably because the little angel threw it across the room, and agian tomy sent a replacement train within two days, again free of charge. So Thumbs up for tomy.0

Yes we did this with a "Mousetrap" game we bought from a boot fair. There were a couple of parts missing, but it was still miles cheaper than buying a new one!0

I was enquiring about bread maker bits and it is £3 for the paddle and £1.50 for the instruction book for my machine so pretty pleased with that!
But what I really wanted to say on this thread was when we were kids we used to play monopoly a lot... my little brother is not a good looser and so when he'd had enough he used to run off with all the notes spreading them around the house!

This is really heartening to read in a society where we increasingly throw things away rather than repairing them. My Mum tried to get a replacement part for her vacuum (bought within the last five years), and she was told they don't make the parts she'd need, so she'd just as well buy a new one!!! I don't know the make, but it's horrible, really. I got a replacement tin for my Breadmachine, and am glad to hear there are still a lot of companies that will send out spare parts!0

If you can find an oval saucepan in the sales that has a lid that will fit your slow cooker then you would have an extra pan with lid and a "free" slow cooker lid than you can use when you need it."This site is addictive!"
