Firefox updated itself this morning and now when I try and access a shortcut into a web site I get a message "windows cannot find file http? etc. I had this before and someone kindly told me how to fix it. Could I please ask for instructions how to do this again.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is it just with Firefox.

Hi try these steps to get your Firefox back up and running
firstly you need to update all plug ins and extensions associated withe firefox just as a precaution to make sure everything is compatible with the new version. after you've done that give it a try as this can sometimes fix the problem
if it doesn't fix the problem then try following these steps- Open Windows Explorer (or My Computer).
- Go to Tools -> Folder Options -> File Types
- Select Extension: "(NONE)" File Type: "URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol"
- Click "Advanced". In the "Edit File Type" window, select "open" and click "Edit"
- Uncheck "Use DDE" (the dialog should then hide the lower part).
- Click OK for that dialog and the next one (afterwards, the "Use DDE" box is still checked but the "DDE Message" box will be cleared, as shown here)
- Repeat for Extension: "(NONE)" File Type: "URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy" (and any other protocols you want to fix)
- Repeat for Extension: "(NONE)" File Type: "Firefox URL"
- Repeat for Extension: "HTM" (or "HTML") File Type: "Firefox Document"
good luck

Thanks for that it worked although I could not find 9. Have printed the instructions off and filed away safely in case it happens again.0
