Fruit loaf recipe

Following on from my succesful carrot cake that I made last week, I've now had a request from my partner for a fruit cake.

Has anyone got a recipe for a fruit loaf? I want to make quite a rich fruit cake (not one that needs to be spread with butter) and I want to make it in a loaf tin.

Any suggestions, much appreciated. :)

There's a Date & Walnut Loaf recipe on the Be-Ro site. Just change the fruits to suit your likes.

To see it click on "All Recipes" at the right hand side ----> Here

Then on Date And Walnut :)

    Thanks Squeaky.

There's also an easy fruit cake recipe on the site that I might try in a loaf tin.

Just be aware that the cooking time will be different between a round tin and a loaf tin - I think it's shorter in a loaf tin so you'll need to check if it's cooked a bit earlier. I'm sure I saw something about this somewhere recently but I'm blowed if I can find it again.

*staring hard at Squeaky trying to find the branding mark on his forehead* :rotfl:

Seriously though, the be-ro site (and, I imagine, the book once I get it) are an invaluable resource that I wouldn't have known about if it weren't for you Squeaky - Cheers!

Have a look in the collections thread under Christmas cake :D

There's also a cracking recipe for a Christmas Cake that I found in the older threads. It's in the MEGA thread in the Cooking and Recipes section.

    Galtizz,

Me, thinking about Christmas???? :rotfl: I only wish I was that organised!

Although I could make the cake now and not let partner eat it 'til Christmas - that really would be money saving! :D
