ITV1’s Tonight with Trevor McDonald programme is looking for people willing to be filmed as part of a PPI Reclaim School, to be conducted by yours truly. To take part you need to be available for the day on Friday 19th October, in central London.
The programme is all about reclaiming the insurance that comes mainly with loans, but also mortgages, credit cards and store cards. So if you think you may have a PPI reclaiming case e.g. you weren't told you had the insurance, you were told it was compulsory, you were unemployed and sold unemployment cover or more and want to come along so i can explain how you can get your money back, that'd be great.
Important.
The reclaim school is for those who haven't started the reclaim process; its not for those who are in the middle of it. The idea is to explore whether you're eligible for a reclaim.
What you need to do
If you fit the bill, are available and not camera-shy, come along and I’ll tell you what you need to do to get your cash back. For more details, please contact Rebecca at the Tonight programme by e-mail Rebecca.hoggarth@itv.com

Wow you have real balls and sympethy for us poor folk on here don't you

I wasn't aware you could reclaim your PPI back although I have always stood my ground on this issue since being stung on my first loan 7 years ago.
Come on folks roll up roll up, what better time to have an excuse for a day out in London on the tele and getting to meet the genius that is MSE expert Martin Lewis
Good luck to you all, I will watch out for you lot when it airs.0 -
Oh I'd be up for this! Hellifax even admitted to me that they didn't follow the Association of British Insurers good practice guidance because I applied by mailer. Furthermore, they have even acknowledged that I wasn't eligible for cover at the start of the policy, despite that, they charged me just under £2k over 6 yrs! Would be very happy to raise awareness of this scam.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0

Ohhh, I would SO like to take part - but can't afford the trip to London
Why is everything good always in London!! Stop looking for answers....

It may be possible your transport could be paid for.... that's a question to ask the production team.

Martin,
Hope you can drop into the programme that certain best buy loan providers are declining customers who don't want PPI and cherry picking those who do.
The way round it is to apply with insurance and then cancel during the cooling off period once you have secured the best rate.
This is blatant abuse of advertising rules and means that perfectly credit worthy customers get declined a loan because the advertised rate is not sustainable unless most customers take the rip off insurance.
R.Smile
, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.0 -
Good point.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.0 -

martin, will you consider doing a programme about people with a terrible spending habit who have remortgaged or switched to 0% finance to deal with their debts being bombarded by banks and loan companies etc to take out more credit - this has happened to me several times and it is unbeleivable how much will power it takes to rip them all up - surely this must be unethical in some way?Pay off 20k by Xmas 2008/Paid so far £406.65/4822.040

Quite right Kassy - it is appalling the way we are pressurred to "find a way out of our problems" by taking on more debt.Stop looking for answers....
