Whiffy floor - yuk

I know someone on here will know what to do.

My friend has just moved into her new house, but the previous owner's aim cannot have been too good, as having lifted the carpet in the loo (which we thought was causing the 'smell'), it transpires that several years of bad aiming have left the wooden floor underneath smelly too.

Not to put to fine a point on it, how can she get the smell of wee to go away? It really is strong :o

Thanks in advance.

If it's years worth and that bad there's every likelyhood that the boards will have started to rot and the only rememdy will be to lift them all out and replace them.

I had the same problem in a student flat I was in - years of drunken boys followed by two clean girls who couldn't stand the smell

Anyway we went to one of the big hardware stores and had a good scout round for something that would help and eventually found an odour neutralising spray thing that you're supposed to use to help train cats who "go" in the wrong place - it removes the smell so they don't think it's a litter try effectively - and it worked like magic :D

I'm sorry that I can't remember what it was called and it was a number of years ago, but I'd imagine the same stuff'll still exist.

I think you mean Simple Solution. It should work a treat.

You might want to get someone in to look at it (if she is renting get the land lord in) because if the wood is rotten it can cause more problems if you dont deal with it now. Otherwise ive always found neutradol good. Im going to get Simple Solution next time I see it to try it out.
I remember when this was just a little website! :money:
