....of home grown SPINACH - MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!
It was so easy, I grew it in a square tub, there's loads in there, it is SOOO succulent and tastes much nicer than those withered up bags from the surpermarket.
Even fussy teenage son ate it!

Yay Stella
We've been eating lettuce from the garden for about a week, I was just gonna pull it out of the ground but someone told me to chop it just above ground level. So I did and it's re-growing, I didn't know it did thatBulletproof0 -
We had our first lettuce yesterday - it actually had flavour!!
Thanks for the tip about how to cut it Troo - I didn't know it did that either.0 -

You're all doing incredibly well. Spinach, though? Yuk! (Yup, I was one of those teens.)
This time next year, maybe I'll be harvesting too. At the moment I'm waiting for cherry tumbling toms, and with this weather, I have a long wait.spendy/she/her ***DEBT-FREE DATE: 11 NOVEMBER 2022!*** Highest debt: £35k (2006) MY WINS: £3,541 CASH; £149 Specsavers voucher; free eye test; goody bag from Scottish Book Trust; tickets to Grand Designs Live; 2-year access to Feel Amazing App (worth £100); Home Improvement & Renovation Show tickets; £50 to spend on chocolate; Harlem Globetrotters tickets; Jesus Christ Superstar tickets + 2 t-shirts; Guardians of the Galaxy goody bag; Birmingham City v Barnsley FC tickets; Marillion tickets; Dancing on Ice tickets; Barnsley FC v Millwall tickets0 -

I've got some tumbling ones as well - some outside and a couple in my greenhouse. This difference (in only two weeks) is amazing. The ones outside are doing fine, got a few flowers on etc but the ones inside are about three times the size with dozens of flowers on!
I've actually got tomatoes on my Gardener's Delight and Alicante varieties (obviously not ready yet tho)

We don't have a greenhouse at this house, but I always used one at my last 2 houses.spendy/she/her ***DEBT-FREE DATE: 11 NOVEMBER 2022!*** Highest debt: £35k (2006) MY WINS: £3,541 CASH; £149 Specsavers voucher; free eye test; goody bag from Scottish Book Trust; tickets to Grand Designs Live; 2-year access to Feel Amazing App (worth £100); Home Improvement & Renovation Show tickets; £50 to spend on chocolate; Harlem Globetrotters tickets; Jesus Christ Superstar tickets + 2 t-shirts; Guardians of the Galaxy goody bag; Birmingham City v Barnsley FC tickets; Marillion tickets; Dancing on Ice tickets; Barnsley FC v Millwall tickets0 -
stellagypsy, how big are your spinach leaves, Im not sure when to eat mine, they are only tiny yet but wondered ,in inches how big yours are. I am eating lettuce that is on the window sill and like troo cut it off and it grows back. I have lettuces outside, ready as well, potatoes not ready, tomatoes coming on well and im really jealous about the peas mine are only 2 inches long but my green beans are flowering. Oh and i have 2 corgettes but not big enough yet to scoff. Its really exiting watching them all grow.0
